Sanctions are nothing new. When used correctly, they can coerce a behavior. Parents use a variant of them to correct bad behavior in kids by doing things like taking away toys. Municipalities use them to ticket citizens for things like speeding. Nations use them against one another as punishment for some action or lack of action.
D, I've been reading the book "Blue Gold, The Fight to Stop Corporate Theft of the World's Water." It tells what Fortune magazine featured in 2000 that "water promises to be to the 21st century what oil was to the 20th century, the precious commodity that determines the wealth of nations." I heard recently in a documentary that 41 purchased water rights (waterfalls) in central/south america along with his son and granddaughter. Is fresh water rights vs. fresh water needs a topic for public discussion? I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on this critical subject. 🙏
