Is it the founders that solve problems… or the speculators who fund them… that drive the economy?
In a perfect world founders and visionaries would present the best solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges and invest dollars would follow.
The world is not perfect.
In fact, most speculative investment is driven by some calculation of “speed to profit or customer growth” vs. “cost of speed” vs. “ability to defend market position of the company.”
This calculation may or may not be aligned with solving the most important challenges.
The balaning act of a vision and what can secure specualtive funding is a never ending act.
